Maxwell’s Telescope Glasses

Maxwell found a broken pair of binoculars and another smaller pair, which his dad said were called opera glasses. With his dad’s help, he attached two of the eyepieces to a sheet of bendy plastic and cut it into the shape of a pair of goggles. Then he added a small torch to light up what he was looking at, and a strap so that they didn’t fall off his head when he bent forwards over his desk. They’re very useful for close-up work on small components like clock mechanisms.

Maxwell’s Pogo-stilts

Maxwell saw a boy in the park bouncing on a pogo stick. It looked so much fun that he wanted to make one himself. In the garage he fond two old car suspension springs and that gave him an idea. He attached the springs to the bottom of his wooden stilts. They were a bit wobbly, but with a little practice he could bounce quite high. He wanted to have his hands free, so he cut the tops off the stilts and attached some straps to hold them onto his knees. Now he can spring around the garden.

Maxwell' experiments are very dangerous and should not be attempted by anyone who isn't a darwing!
