CAREER BREAK: July 2007-Present
During my career break I have completed several freelance projects and
a distance learning course (see below), and been active in the Birmingham
division of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

After joining the company as the part-time, in-house designer, I developed
what was essentilly a "freebie" wine list typing service for
preferred customers into a full-time, Mac-based design and marketing
department.
Design duties included:
Designing, printing and finishing wine list, menus, bottle labels, posters
and stationary in-house
Designing monthly brochures, seasonal brochures and annual catalogue
to be printed by contracted printers
Designing and updating company website
Designing adverts for local and national press and trade magazines
Presentations to both customers and in-house teams/directors
Product photography
Illustration
Management duties included:
Co-ordinating and allocating work to the design team
Producing specifications and sourcing quotes for external print jobs
Design department stationery stock control
Maintaining colour and black & white photocopiers
Filing and general administration
